Brighton: A History

This website shows the path of the city Brighton, Michigan from it’s origins to the successful Metro-Detroit suburb that still exists today. Brighton marks the halfway point between two major Michigan cities, Lansing and Detroit. This strategic location and the added benefits of being located at the intersection of two major highways, US-23 and I-96, has bolstered Brighton into an age of economic, educational and community success in more recent years.Shaped in its interactions and contributions to war and westward settlement, Brighton has remained a prominent city in Livingston County. The slogan coined in Brighton, “Where Quality is a Way of Life” has proved true in all aspects of the community.
