The Washington Historical Museum is a museum located right next to the Washington Twp. Elementary School. The museum was originally built as a high school in 1916, and the building had three classrooms and an auditorium on the first floor. Classes took place at the Washington High School until 1972, and the museum was established in 1975. Inside the museum there are exhibits that include old farming tools, a printing press, and even some items from the Civil War, World War I, World War II, and Desert Storm. After going on a tour of the museum recently, a tour guide also informed me that the Washington Historical Museum may be haunted. The man proclaimed items would be moved around, and knocked over when he would enter the building in the morning. I couldn’t capture a picture of the ghost, so I guess we’ll never know for sure….
