Points of Interest in Okemos:

Meridian Historical Village: Where much of the history of Okemos and the Hamilton settlement are preserved.

Nokomis Native American Cultural Center: Located next to the Historical Village, details Native American settlements.


Meridian Farmer’s Market: Located in Central Park, a grand market where produce and other goods can be purchased.

Meridian Mall: Built November 6, 1969. A destination for many to shop at the over one hundred stores and eat at the eight restaurant food court.


Hamilton Building at 2060 Hamilton Rd: Replaced the Walker general store. Also home to the “Four Corners” of Okemos, the location of the original center of the Hamilton Settlement.

Ferguson Park: Where Chief Okemos and the War Chiefs held their pow wows. Located south of the Four Corners.

Goetsch-Winkler House and Donald A. and Mary Lou Schaberg House: Two separate Frank Lloyd Wright style homes built in Okemos.
