Livonia Today

Livonia today is still a rather large city with almost 100,000 people according to the 2010 census. Due to past events in Detroit, Livonia still to this day remains largely a white middle class city. It is home to three high schools, four public libraries, two shopping centers, and a newly built recreational center. It hosts a large annual festival, the Livonia Spree, in the late spring. Livonia is home to many large companies and even multiple colleges and universities. It hasn’t lost touch with its historic background and has kept up the Greenmead Historical Park. It is home to many restored houses built in the 19th century. The city of Livonia carefully moved historical buildings to this area to preserve its own history. The grounds are open to visitation, of course. (Greenmead Historic Park Home Page) (Hatfield, S.)
