I’ve lived in East Grand Rapids within Grand Rapids for fifteen years and love and respect it way more now than when I first moved there. I was able to walk around Gaslight Village in the center of East Grand Rapids and go out to eat, get ice cream or just hangout at outdoor tables outside many local stores. I could go out on a boat in Reed’s Lake to waterski or go tubing. I could even go ice skating and play hockey once the lake froze over. As I grew older, I could drive to East Town to eat or hangout where the famous hot dog restaurant Yesterdog. Now I can go to the various bars, sports bars, and breweries for amazing food and drinks (especially microbrews). It was always easy to connect with friends living in a small section of a larger growing city.
