(9) Unusual Hitching Posts. Clarkston, MI

These are some interesting Hitching posts dating back to 1917 and can be seen from the sidewalk off Holcomb Rd.

Butler Holcomb arrived in Clarkston coming from New York in 1832. It is rumored that Holcomb built the fifth log cabin in the settlement. This cabin was built on the site that is now Holcomb Rd.

Butler Holcomb built a sawmill, which was later sold to the Clark brothers in 1838.
